It’s winter break and I have a chance to be back to my “tropically hot” homeland. I am more than happy to leave the chilly wind and snow of China and bask in the sunshine again. Coming home always brought mixed emotions for me. I am happy to see my family and friends yet also sad that I missed most of their milestone experiences…happy to see my “mama’s” remnant of a garden yet sad that most of her flowers are gone…happy to see my hometown’s booming economy yet sad that her natural beauty is slowly fading overtaken by the “so-called” urban development…BUT still I am grateful to God who gives me this short break to enjoy and cherish home ..although I will leave it again yet at least I have the chance to experience the sights and smells of my “beloved” home.

I’m so glad you got to go home too, flora! So green and beautiful! love and hugs for your time there and for when you have to return to China again!
thank you Debbie you are so nice… thanking God indeed for this annual opportunity to reunite with loved ones…love your poems keep hem coming!
How nice to be home, if only for a short while. I only recognise one of the flowers in your photos. The pinkish one which I know as Japanese balsam. Is that your family dog?
hi there ..happy new year…the first one we call them locally as “money tree” it is a shrub it changes color from green to yellow to red..the yellow one is kind of wild it grows everywhere in our yard not sure of the name ..and yes Tiger is my dog …he is also our family dog..I left him as a puppy now he is big and adorable rascal.
Adorable Tiger! Thanks for the information on the plants.
It must be hard to be away so much, but you are in a place I would love to visit. China has so much history and culture unlike our own and the architecture,,, it would be a dream for me to see it in person. I would miss my dog if I were gone like you though. I hope you are enjoying your time home.
yes I would miss home and my dog ..thanks for dropping by …your blog is amazing ..I especially enjoyed the bird photos.
Beautiful photos, of course I love the dog picture the best. Even if it’s only of his butt.
thanks…it is hard to photograph him actually in repose as he wants to play with me…so it has to be a stolen shot…
